“The Second Great Awakening” Religious Revivals in Early 19th Century New England
The first several decades of the 19th century ushered in an age of religious revivals and doctrinal fragmentation in New England. This phenomenon is now referred to as “The Second Great Awakening”. This presentation will begin with a 20-minute historically costumed 1835 New England revival service followed by a lecture examining the religious fervor that swept America during this the time.
