The Golden Age of Silent Film
April 27, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
A Sunday Afternoon Matinee
As the decades marched on in America, leisure time and more ways to enjoy it became available. This presentation is a treasure trove bursting with adventure, drama, romance, comedy and a range of emotions. Put together with live “Mood Music” accompaniment, these films provided education plus entertainment for the world. In fact, two new universal languages were born: the art of telling a story with a camera lens and the language of Pantomime. Now everyone from around the world could understand just by watching and listening. Inter-titles were used but the best films needed very few. The rules of film-making that were worked out back then are still used in film studios today.
