The Golden Age of Silent Film

April 27, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

A Sunday Afternoon Matinee

As the decades marched on in America, leisure time and more ways to enjoy it became available. This presentation is               a treasure trove bursting with adventure, drama, romance, comedy and every emotion we feel. Put together with live “Mood Music” accompaniment, these silent films provided education plus entertainment for the world.  In fact, two new universal languages were born: the art of telling a story with a camera lens and the language of Pantomime.  Now everyone from around the world could understand just by watching and listening.   Inter-titles were used but the best films needed very few.  The rules of film-making that were worked out back then are still used in film studios today.
