SAVE THE DATE – NEXT YEAR – 2024

After his service during the American Revolution, General Marquis de Lafayette arrived back in America 50 years later on August 15, 1824. He toured the country, which was then comprised  of 24 states, for a little over a year embarking on his return journey to France on September 7, 1825.As he traveled throughout the United States, communities welcomed the general with processions, artillery salutes, speeches, dinners, and balls.  Lancaster, Massachusetts was one of the communities he visited.

A recreation of that very special event in Lancaster is in the planning to take place on our historic Town Green on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 9 am to 10 am. We do hope you can come out that day to join the festivities!
